Whenever we think of the month of February, we automatically think of love and lots of ways to romance another person. Our attention turns to igniting the flame in our current relationship or else finding that perfect partner. And this can happy any time of the year.
If you are truly looking for love and romance, let it start by loving yourself. When you love yourself, you open the door to allow others to love you too. You set the example for all others on how you want to be loved. It's unrealistic and unfair to expect others to love you more than you love yourself.
Here are some simple steps to start loving yourself today so you can attract more love into your life.
-
1. Listen to Your Self-Talk - If you are telling yourself such things as, "I shouldn't have done that" or "I should have known that" you are not showing that you love yourself. In fact, you are shaming and degrading yourself which drains you of energy and makes you feel down and depressed. Keep in mind that everything you say and do to yourself, gives the green light for others to do the same to you, as well.
2. Lighten Up On Yourself - Negative self-talk shows up when you impose unrealistic standards on yourself. Shift your focus away from obtaining perfection and start living your blessed life. Think of your life and your body as a vehicle to pursue your dreams and as a means of communication. Show yourself honor, respect and love.
3. Live Your Blessed Life - Gratitude and love are two of the most powerful energies in the Universe. You can immediately change your mood just by thinking of all the things you are grateful for in your life right now. When a negative thought arises, stop what you are doing and start counting your blessings.
